- High Strength: The 10lb bag container provides a super strength thickener that increases the viscosity of the material for better adhesion and durability and also scuff and sanding resistance as it's silica component will resist abrasion.
- Premium Polyester and Epoxy Thickener: Also referred to as colloidal or hydrophilic fumed silica, our silica thickener is an excellent thixotropic agent designed to work as an epoxy resin thickener.
- Measure And Mixing: pour out your desired amount of resin, if epoxy use 2 separate cups and stir in the amount of fumed silica until the desired consistency is reached. Then combine with the required hardener or mix A&B parts together and mix thoroughly, stirring from the bottom to the top until the desired consistency is reached. It's always easy to add more but not so much of taking away any. Work in increments until the desired consistency is reached.
- Versatile: The thickener is compatible with epoxy, polyester, fiberglass resin, silicone, and other materials for use in various applications, including paints. Can be used in water-based adhesives, sealants, and coatings.
- Features: Silica thickener easily mixes into epoxy resin, polyester resin and a host of other systems, including paint.
- Consistency: Fumed silica powder can be used alone to create a very smooth, non-sagging, high-strength polyester or epoxy resin mixture, but can also be combined with other fillers or fibers to prevent sagging
- Cleanup: Clean hands, exposed skin, and work surfaces with mild soap and water.
- Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. While working with Fumed Silica it is required to wear a respirator, gloves and other appropriate PPE
